Showtime Arabia is the Middle East's leading pay-TV network. The company naturally approached Proximity for a solution to its growing digital communication strategy back in spring 2004, and has grown from strength to strength in its customer relationship management ever since.

Showtime came to Proximity in early 2007 with a brief to redesign its website and reinforce a complete brand re-architecture which had been in the works since late 2006. In complete contrast to its previous image, the brand's new message was simple - think white, think fresh, think simple. And that's exactly what we delivered.

By questioning every single aspect of the site from its information architecture to its visual layout, the team put in a passionate effort to bring focus back to the person that mattered the most - the customer - people like you and me, looking for something to while away a Saturday evening.

The site didn't come easy though. The sheer complexity of bilingual and country-specific customization meant that most pages would take between 1-10 seconds to load during the early stages. A stringent series of optimization exercises leading up to the site's launch helped reduce that to under a millisecond by the time the site went live. And it doesn't end there. The site also features advanced security mechanisms to protect online payment transactions, in addition to its integration with a custom-made Content Management System and Advertising solution.

And the show never stops. At the time of this summary, we were still working to add in an exciting new Trailer Lounge and build upon the site's popular online TV-guide - SHOWGUIDE.
